Wave of Compassion for Tsunami Victims sweeps over Irvington

By: Kevin Friedly

As you visit the various shops in Irvington over the next several months, you will find that many of them are displaying a container for collecting money to be donated to the Tsunami relief efforts in the Indian Ocean area. The youth group from Downey Avenue Christian Church (which includes youth from Holy Spirit and Our Lady Of Lourdes) have set a goal of raising $10,000.

In addition, Irvington's Yoga guru Lisa Daugherty has scheduled a Yoga evening where you can do something good for yourself AND donate money for Tsunami relief. Yoga night is scheduled for January 26 at 7pm at Downey Avenue Christian Church (enter through the door on the south-east corner of the building).
